Extended Polar Format Algorithm (EPFA) for High-Resolution Highly Squinted SAR

چکیده
The conventional polar format algorithm (CPFA) is widely used for synthetic aperture radar (SAR) because of its simple and efficient operations. However, due to wavefront curvature assumption, the CPFA’s depth-of-focus (DOF) extremely small, which greatly limits scene size, especially high-resolution highly squinted (HRHS) SAR. To solve this problem, an extended PFA (EPFA) proposed in study, re-deriving mapping functions by expanding range history into slant- cross-range components according forms real data storage. This allows full use storage data, CPFA cannot achieve large approximations introduced projection echo onto ground. error then analyzed eliminated using a space-variant phase compensation function. Due high accuracy expansion slant plane correction processing, EPFA has larger DOF than CPFA. also more suitable undulating terrains since it avoids ground performed Using comparative analyses simulated real-world images, results suggest that achieves better focusing effects particularly useful HRHS

Image formation from squinted sliding spotlight synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is limited by azimuth spectral folding and severe two dimension coupling. This paper presents an Extended Wavenumber Domain Algorithm (WDA) for highly squinted sliding spotlight SAR data processing. متن کاملAzimuth Nonlinear Chirp Scaling Integrated with Range Chirp Scaling Algorithm for Highly Squinted Sar Imaging
The difficulty of focusing high-resolution highly squinted SAR data comes from the serious azimuth-range coupling, which needs to be compensated in the procedure of imaging. Generally, the linear range walk correction (LRWC) can reduce the coupling effectively, however, it also induces the problem of azimuth-dependence of residual range cell migration (RCM) and quadratic phase. A novel algorith...

This paper presents a modified approach for high-resolution, highly squint synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data processing. Several nonlinear chirp scaling (NLCS) algorithms have been proposed to solve the azimuth variance of the frequency modulation rates that are caused by the linear range walk correction (LRWC). However, the azimuth depth of focusing (ADOF) is not handled well by these algori...

This paper presents an effective Polar Format Algorithm (PFA) for spotlight bistatic synthetic aperture radar (SAR) with arbitrary geometry configuration. Nonuniform interpolation and resampling are adopted when converting raw data from polar coordinates to Cartesian coordinates according to the characteristics of raw data samples in spatial frequency space. Thus, the proposed algorithm avoids ...
متن کاملA Novel Polar Format Algorithm for SAR Images Utilizing Post Azimuth Transform Interpolation
SAR phase history data represents a polar array in the Fourier space of a scene being imaged. Polar Format processing is about reformatting the collected SAR data to a Cartesian data location array for efficient processing and image formation. In a real-time system, this reformatting or “re-gridding” operation is the most processing intensive, consuming the majority of the processing time; it a...
